Afcon wrap: Uganda, Mali qualify

Uganda and Mali became the next two nations to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda secured their spot in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win over Cape Verde in Group L on Saturday afternoon.

Patrick Kaddu struck 11 minutes before time to seal all the three points for Uganda, which also preserved their unbeaten run.

The Cranes have accumulated 13 points from five minutes and are top of Group L.

Cape Verde’s qualification into the next round is reliant on other results going their way as they have four points from five matches. They are only one point behind second placed Tanzania who play bottom side Lesotho on Sunday.

Comoros 2-1 Malawi

Comoros kept their hopes of reaching Cameroon next year alive with a 2-1 victory over Malawi in the 2019 Afcon qualifier match of Group B on Saturday afternoon.
