Assistant duo take charge at Stars

Free State Stars have handed the first team reins to assistant coaches David Vilakazi and Selaotse Mosala on a temporary basis.

The duo are set to take charge of Ea Lla Koto following the departure of Luc Eymael a fornight ago, wth their first order of business in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Eymael led the club to their first trophy in 24 years, the Nedbank Cup, at the end of last season, but endured a difficult start to the current campaign as the team have suffered seven defeats in 14 games while also getting eliminated from the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout at the first round.

Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena has since confirmed that Vilakazi and Mosala will lead the team against Rwandan side Mukura Victory Sports on Wednesday.

“We still have David and Sly, who will lead the team until we make a different announcement,” he tells KickOff.com.

They will host the first leg clash at the Bidvest Stadium (15h00), before travelling to Rwanda for the return duel next week.
