Bafana player ratings vs Paraguay

KickOff.com rates the individual performances from Bafana Bafana’s 1-1 draw with Paraguay in the Nelson Mandela Challenge on Tuesday evening.

Coach Stuart Baxter rung the changes for the international friendly fixture, giving youngsters and fringe players a rare run following some crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Darren Keet – 6

Looked a bit shaky as he fumbled shots and crosses but was left overly exposed by his defence on numerous occasions. Also lacked efficient distribution for quick counter-attacking breaks. Was replaced by Ronwen Williams at half-time.

Ramahlwe Mphahlele – 6

Was kept busy by Dominguez on the right-hand side but managed to get forward and deliver some good crosses. All the running eventually took its toll on him as he was replaced by Thamsanqa Mkhize in the 57th minute due to a thigh injury.

Motjeka Madisha – 4

Had a shocker in only his second appearance outside of the COSAFA Cup. Failed to complement central defensive partner Hlatshwayo as he lost possession in critical areas and was punished for Paraguay’s opening goal. Replaced by Buhle Mkhwanazi at half-time.
