Baroka FC centre-back Abdi Banda looks set to join a club in Gauteng in January.
The 23-year-old Tanzanian quickly established himself in the PSL following his arrival in July 2017 from Simba SC, prompting interest in his services.
He has played eight times in the league this season for Bakgaga, but has been absent from recent match-day squads.
According to an official at Baroka, the club last month recruited Vusi Sibiya from Tshwane University of Technology in anticipation of Banda’s impending exit.
“There are teams poaching the player behind our back,” said the official speaking on condition of anonymity.
“We are aware of the situation but we are handling it properly. He is leaving in January.
“We have already made plans well in advance to replace him by signing young defender Vusi Sibiya from TUT.”
