Ben: Maximum points all the way

Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari says their mission in the remaining Absa Premiership games is simple, as he weighs up his title-winning experience with Bidvest Wits.

Seven games remain for Pirates to try and pull all the stops and make a push for their first league title in seven years, and this is all they have left to play for this season.

Their CAF Champions League exit may have come as a blessing, as they can focus solely on gunning to be crowned domestic champions before looking to conquer the continent.

With their run-in beginning with a crunch clash at home to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, Motshwari says it is pivotal that they look to obtain all 21 points on offer in their attempt to dethrone The Brazilians.

“It’s important not to drop points anymore. From now on it [has to be] maximum points all the way, starting from Monday and going forward,” said Motshwari.

“I think we should start with a win, especially that we’re playing at home and that’s an advantage for us.”

The 28-year-old is not new to this situation, having previously been part of the Wits side that successfully chased down Sundowns in the final stretch of the 2016/17 league race, but says this time is a slightly different scenario in that more teams are in contention.
