Celtic secure MDC title with Chiefs scalp

Bloemfontein Celtic overcome Kaizer Chiefs to clinch the 2018/2019 MultiChoice Diski Challenge title.

Bloemfontein Celtic were crowned MultiChoice Diski Challenge Champions after beating Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the final match on Saturday afternoon at Makhulong Stadium.

Mokone Mereko opened the scoring for Siwelele in the 13th minute from the penalty spot but Sizwe Twala equalised for Amakhosi three minutes later.

However, Lefa Wesi restored the lead for Phunya Sele Sele a minute before the hour-mark and Mereko sealed the three points with another penalty in the 66th minute and completed his brace in the process.

Celtic finish top of the pile with 32 points while Chiefs end on fifth place with 25 points, both from 15 rounds of matches.

Banele Sikhondze broke the deadlock for Rise and Shine in the 34th minute but Eyona Ndondo equalised for the Citizens on the stroke of halftime before he made it 2-1 two minutes after the break for his brace.
