'Celtic still have Komphela imprint'

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic is wary of their next match against Bloemfontein Celtic, who he feels will have Steve Komphela’s “spiritual presence” on Tuesday.

Pirates are set to face their second match in the space of just three days when they host Celtic at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto tomorrow evening.

Having suffered defeat in their return fixture back in August, when Phunya Sele Sele were still under the tutelage of Komphela, Micho feels they will once again come up against the astute tactician whom they had just overcame with a 1-0 victory at Golden Arrows on Saturday.

“I was saying to Steve Komphela [on Saturday], we have played with him physically present in Durban and on Tuesday we play a team that has his spiritual presence, having in mind that he was with them for six months,” said Micho.

“He has put an enormous stamp [on the team] and we know they are a very organised team now under our former captain Lehlohonolo Seema and John Maduka.

“We have seen how good they are in transitions and counter-attacks, so it’s a team that really needs special attention to details that we shall share with our players.

“We’ll look top find their sources of danger to close them down and their points of vulnerability where we can exploit.”
