Cape Town City have announced the signing of former SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus.
KickOff.com revealed on Monday that Erasmus is in the country and is set for a move to the Citizens. He will start playing for them in January.
Erasmus struggled for game-time at Portuguese outfit Vitoria de Setubal after joining them earlier this year.
Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter recently said he would go visit Erasmus in Portugal when he starts getting playing time. But now that the 28-year-old is back in the country, Baxter will be able to monitor him closely.
Erasmus has an opportunity to play regular football and prove his worth after a difficult time spent in Europe.
According to media officer Vusi Ntimane, Erasmus has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.
“Kermit Erasmus is our player and we say the eagle has landed. We have signed him for three years and six months. But we will only be eligible to register him in January when the window period opens.”
