Manchester City ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run in the English Premier League following a 2-1 victory to boost their title hopes.

Vincent Kompany and Danilo were surprise changes in defence, as was  Leroy Sane on the wide side, with Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez relegated to the bench.

Hyped as the champions v challengers, the Reds title credentials were to be tested by the reigning holders who aimed at inflicting their first defeat.
