Dolly shares word of advice for Bafana

Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly has pinpointed key factors from their previous victory over Nigeria and shares a word of encouragement to the current side ahead of this weekend’s match.

Dolly was an integral part of the Bafana side that managed a historic 2-0 win over Nigeria in their opening 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo last year – setting up Percy Tau for the all-important second goal that sealed the result.

This time though, the 25-year-old missed out after suffering a shin fracture with his French Ligue 1 side Montpellier in September and has yet to return to action.

However, he has full confidence in the players selected this time around and backs the team to see out the necessary result at the FNB Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

“It’s obviously sad not be there with the boys for this game, but I believe everyone who has been called up fully deserves to wear the jersey, and they will do the job tomorrow,” Dolly tells KickOff.comfrom France.

He has also shared some important pointers around their approach to the match 18 months ago, hoping it would be similar this time around.

“I think a key factor was that we were not intimidated by the atmosphere or their supporters. We focussed more on what we’re good at and how we could best penetrate their defence by playing our style of football,” he says.

“We were focussed on ourselves throughout the entire camp and we were all willing to fight for beyond just the 90 minutes.”

The former Mamelodi Sundowns star, who also helped the club to their maiden continental crown two years ago, has offered further advice to his teammates as well as a message of support.
