Frosler relishing potential Derby debut

Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Reeve Frosler is adamant he will not let the club’s supporters down and is relishing the prospect of making his debut in the upcoming Soweto Derby.

Chiefs completed a swoop on the 21-year-old from Bidvest Wits on transfer deadline day, after he reportedly fell out with the club over his contract situation.

Having earlier signed a pre-contract, Amakhosi tendered to have Frosler released early from his contract at The Clever Boys, as they look to have a right go at ending their trophy drought.

Coach Ernst Middendorp has trumpeted the signature of the former Amajita full-back and has hinted that he could well feature alongside the likes of Ramahlwe Mphahlele or Kgotso Moleko.

“Reeve is a wing-back who can play on either the right or the left. He is one for the future and an investment for the club,” said Middendorp on his club’s website.

“Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kgotso Moleko have done well at right-back and can also give us flexibility at the center-back position.”
