Gomes called up for CAF duty

South African referee Victor Gomes has been appointed to officiate in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals.

The reigning PSL Referee of the Season will take charge of the match between Sportif Sfaxien and Nkana F on April 14 in Sfax. The match will take place on 14 April 2019 at Sfax-Stade Taieb Mhiri in Tunisia.

Gomes will be assisted by fellow South African Zakhele Siwela, and Mathew Kananga from Namibia. Namibian Jackson Pavaza will serve as the fourth official.

Gomes has been trusted to take charge of matches in both the Champions League and Confederation Cup, and has stamped his authority quite well in some of the most intimidating stadiums around the continent
