Gunners cement fourth spot with big win

Arsenal thumped Bournemouth 5-1 in an English Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Gunners went into a fourth-minute lead when Mesut Ozil calmly lifted the ball over Arthur Boruc from Sead Kolasinac’s assist.

The second goal arrived on 27 minutes as Ozil played a one-two with Henrikh Mkhitaryan before setting up the Armenian with a reverse pass for a thumping finish.

Lys Mousset halved the deficit three minutes later after finishing off a cross from Dan Gosling who had robbed Matteo Guendouzi of possession.

On the hour-mark, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang raced through on goal to round Boruc for an easy finish.

Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno was called up on to tip over Joshua King’s curling effort after cutting in from the wings.

Alexandre Lacazette completed the victory with a dipping free-kick to keep fourth place in sight ahead of the weekend’s schedule.
