I don't see Neymar coming back – Xavi

FC Barcelona legend Xavi has voiced a strong opinion towards the reports linking the world’s most expensive player Neymar with a sensational return to LaLiga.

In the latest events on the never-ending transfer saga surroudning the Paris Saint-Germain superstar, reports in Spanish media claim Real Madrid President Florentino feels the exhirbitant fee needed would not make sense financially, given their recent investments in Brazilian wonderkid’s Vincicius and Rodrygo.

And Xavi, who won eight LaLiga titles and four Champions Leagues with the Blaugrana feels there’s no chance his former side would stump up the required capital needed to prise him away from the Ligue 1 champions.

“I don’t see it. I don’t see it. I also think it didn’t work out well, I don’t see it in any way,” he told Cadena SER.

“I read a lot of press because I’m up to date with everything football, but I see zero chances that Neymar can return to Barcelona.”

With Neymar netting 13 goals in 16 games for PSG this season, he looks on course for another prolific campaign and the 2010 World-winner feels the technically gifted Selecao star needs a few tweaks to be ranked amongst the iconic duo of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“If he is mature and works, he will be close to Cristiano and Messi,” he said.

“He can be decisive, but it depends on him.”
