Lebese attracts Celtic interest

Bloemfontein Celtic have expressed an interest to sign midfielder George Lebese from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Lebese has endured a tough time since arriving at Sundowns from Kaizer Chiefs  at the start of last season, and has yet to make an appearance this season.

The Brazilians’ coach Pitso Mosimane has since confirmed that the Mamelodi-born attacker is free to go and play his football elsewhere in the new year.

The 29-year-old has already been linked to a number of teams including Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits.

However, Mosimane has since dropped a hint that Celtic coach Steve Komphela is keen on reuniting with Lebese at Siwelele.

“I hear Steve likes him, because he worked with him [at Chiefs],” said Mosimane.

“Look, it’s football, he can go and make it. Look at Bongi Ntuli at AmaZulu, for example, he is scoring goals. There are no hard feelings.”
