Man City crush Hammers in London

Manchester City ruined Manuel Pellegrini’s reunion with a 4-0 hammering of a hapless West Ham United in the English Premier League.

Manuel Pellegrini faced his former team for the first time since leaving following the availability of the current incumbent Pep Guardiola towards the end of 2015.

West Ham started well which involved a goal-line clearance from Aymeric Laporte after Michel Antonio threatened with a well-placed effort from a dangerous position.

That was well washed away by the Citizens with the evergreen David Silva steering in a delivery from Raheem Sterling on 10 minutes.

The second took just 10 minutes which came courtesy of Sterling turning from provider to finish off a well-worked move.

With the home side struggling to cope with the high-octane game imposed on them, it was just about to get worse for them.

Amazing ball control inside the box from Leroy Sane brought him to turn the defence and beat Lukasz Fabianski off another supply from Sterling inside 32 minutes.

With the gulf in class clear for all to see, City started the second half by applying the same pressure with Sterling going close once again.

Good goalkeeping from Fabianski to put the pressure on Sterling to score as it allowed him to make save from Sane’s follow-up strike.
