Manyama: We’re better under Middendorp

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama feels they have already shown improvement since the arrival of new coach Ernst Middendorp and says there is renewed belief within the team.

The decision to show former coach Giovanni Solinas the door has somewhat been vindicated by subsequent results, with Chiefs having picked up three wins on the trot without conceding a single goal.

The players also show a new vigour in their play, proving they can now grind out results as they did against SuperSport United towards the end of last year.

Manyama has further confirmed that spirits within the camp have been hoisted by Middendorp, whose playing philosophy suits the kind of personnel in the team.

“Right now, we’re in a good phase, the energy and confidence levels are very high. We’re trying to improve as a team and individually as well,” said Manyama.

“What’s important is that we’re enjoying ourselves. There’s always a time for a new change, and obviously we’ve brought in a coach that believes in playing [an attractive brand of football].

“We have so many ball players in the team, and you can see from the past three games that we’ve been better, but we also know that we can still improve with each and every game.”
