“Let me say this, Middendorp is a top coach, who has contributed a lot to South African football. He transformed me from being a striker to a defender and many other players.”

Mayo expects the former Maritzburg United mentor to make a number of changes to the Amakhosi set-up.

“Forget about what happened to him last time, let’s judge him now. I believe there’s so many things he will change at the club, especially now with more quality from his assistant to the players.”

Mayo believes the club’s senior players must also do more to help the team achieve their ambitions.
