Mbekile stresses appetite for Bucs glory

The 32-year-old arrived having already won two Absa Premiership titles, one Telkom Knockout, a Nedbank Cup as well as the CAF Champions League and Super Cup.

Despite all this success, ‘Shoes’ insists he is still on the hunt for more silverware to add to his cabinet and is particularly eager to help The Buccaneers lift one specific trophy.

“I want to win everything – every cup that we’re involved in, I want to win it. But I’d love to tick the MTN8 off my list to be able to say I’ve won everything,” Mbekile tells KickOff.com.

For now, though, he is just two hurdles away from doubling his league cup winner’s medal tally, with Pirates set to take on Kaizer Chiefs in the TKO semi-final this weekend in what could be his Soweto Derby debut

“But, if we could win the Telkom Knockout cup I’d also be very happy. We obviously have a good chance of doing that now being in the semi-final,” he says.
