Micho fully aware of Stars challenge

Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic is under no illusion of what lies ahead of his charges in Windhoek on Saturday but is confident in their preparations for the clash against African Stars.

The Buccaneers are set for a crunch CAF Champions League tie tomorrow afternoon (16h00 kick-off) in their first round second-leg clash against the Namibian outfit, as they look to make amends for their goalless draw at home last weekend.

In preparations, ‘Micho’ has pulled all the stops to ensure they are ready for whatever comes their way and is adamant on closing out the year with a victory and progression to the group stages.

“We played 0-0 at home, so we’re fully aware of the challenge that we are having ahead of us, that we need to get a scoring draw or a win,” Sredojevic told his club’s media department.

“We went back to prepare with two training session at the Nike Training Centre, where we wanted to adjust to the field of play – the way the balls rolls and moves.

“And in that regard, I believe we have done very well to help players acclimatise to the conditions that will be similar to those in Windhoek at the Sam Najumo Stadium. The players have done very well, and I believe we touched some very important aspects.

“In conclusion of the year, we are determined to express the talent of our players; we are determined to put out a performance. We believe that focussing on the football itself and that final point of finishing, with the quality of players we have, we will perform, and we are looking forward to going to the group stages.”
