Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says veteran winger Elias Pelembe remains a key member of his squad.
The 35-year-old Mozambican has played 13 Absa Premiership matches this season, eight of which were from the start.
Hunt at times brings Pelembe on as an impact and he can use his pace to create problems for the opposition with his pace, just as he did against his former side Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday.
Pelembe has one goal and four assists this season. His experience will come in handy for the Clever Boys as they look to dethrone Sundowns as champions
“We still feel he can do better for us. I’ve seen him much better. I thought his delivery and final ball [against Sundowns was not good enough,” Hunt said after their match against Sundowns.
“He’s a special player and he did well. [He won] Man of the match on Monday [against Black Leopards in the Nedbank Cup]. There’s no ways he could have gone again [against Sundowns], so we rested. But otherwise he is an important member for us.”
Wits, who dropped to second place on the standings last night, will be back in action when they take on Cape Town City at Bidvest Stadium (20h15).
