Pep: How the EPL has made me stronger

Before his highly publicised move to City, Guardiola won three La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies with Barcelona, before leading Bayern Munich to three consecutive Bundesliga triumphs.

However, his first season at the Etihad ended up being his first trophyless season within his managerial career, which the Spaniard eluded to upon his assessment of the competitiveness within the English top-flight.

“I am a better manager than I was in Germany, and I am a better manager now than I was in Barcelona by far, just for the fact of being there,” he said at the Peers Annual Lecture, as quoted by The Independent.

“Now, I feel being here I am a better manager too, because I learned to handle this incredible league in many circumstances.

After leading the Sky Blues to a record-breaking 100 points with 106 goals in 38 matches within last season Premier League title win – along with the Carabao Cup and Community Shield – Guardiola’s tally moved up to 24 major trophies.

“Sooner or later, it will happen because every three days I would like to be involved, but a little bit more calm, play more golf,” he added. “If I have a chance and some international team wants to come β€˜knock knock’. We will see.”
