Sundowns sold the reigning PSL Player of the Season and joint-Golden Boot winner to English Premier League side Brighton Hove Albion in August for a fee in the region of R50m.

With Downs starting 2018/19 slowly, Mosimane pointed to Tau’s exit as a factor.

Tau, who has since been loaned to Saint Gilloise, has continued to impress in the Belgian second tier, while he reiterated his value with consecutive man-of-the match performances in Bafana’s stalemates with Nigeria and Paraguay in the recent FIFA break.

Mosimane was surprisingly one of the dignitaries that shared the stage after Bafana drew 1-1 with Paraguay in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Tuesday.

“I told you guys it’ll be difficult for me to replace Tau and you guys are not listening to me, and you don’t understand,” ‘Jingles’ said.

“If you don’t have a player like that, you tell me where I’m going to get it? But this is not the space for me to talk, this is SAFA’s space,” added the former Bafana coach.
