SAFA have sent their condolences to the family of Tornado FC owner Siphiwo Nyobo, who was shot over the weekend in East London.
Nyobo, a prominent businessman and traditional healer, was gunned down at North End Stadium after Tornado beat Birmingham FC 4-1 in an ABC Motsepe League clash on Saturday.
Nyobo, who was popularly known as “Mawawa” is said to have been shot while he was car.
“We are saddened by another loss of life and on behalf of the soccer family, would like to extend my profound condolences to the family, club and friends of Nyobo,” said SAFA acting CEO Russell Paul.
“We call upon the law enforcement agents to track down the culprits who carried out this dastardly act, and bring them to book,” Paul added.
The motive for the shooting is unknown, but police are investigating the matter. A murder case has been opened, but no one has been arrested yet.
