Manchester United’s highest paid player Alexis Sanchez has offered himself to Real Madrid as he seeks to end his nightmare spell at Old Trafford, according to reports in Spain.
Real remain on the lookout for a striker and, according to a report in the Spanish media on Monday, with Mariano Diaz, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema yet to inspire confidence as replacement their club-record scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.
And United’s Alexis Sánchez has emerged as a potential signing for the LaLiga giants.
With Alexis said to be keen to leave Old Trafford, the television show ‘El Chiringuito‘ claimed that the Chilean’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, and the player himself has declared his availability for the European champions.
The 29-year-old was recently reported by the newspaper The Times to feel “lonely, bored and ignored” at United and to be after a departure from the Premier League club as soon as January, just a year after joining the Red Devils.
Despite his struggles at Old Trafford, the general consensus remains that Sanchez still has the ability to perform at a world-class level and a change of scenery may see an upturn in fortunes to rekindle the form he displayed at Arsenal.
Real are said to firm admirers of Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi, who has 10 goals in 13 games for Inter this season, but with the Serie A side unlikely to negotiate during January, Sanchez has emerged as the more viable option for club President Florentino Perez,
