Attacking midfielder Toni Silva is on the verge of signing for Egyptian club Al Ittihad after he completed his medical with the club this morning.
KickOff.com revealed that the player is set to leave the defending Absa Premiership champions after struggling to break into the starting line-up since joining them before the start of the season.
The player requested to make a move and will join Al Ittihad, who are said to have agreed terms with former Liverpool and Chelsea youth player.
Silva’s representative, Godwin Emmanuel of Gzedsports Management, has confirmed his client’ s imminent move to Egypt.
“He has passed the medical. Hopefully will conclude the deal very soon,” said Emmanuel.
Silva’s departure from Sundowns will open space for the club to sign another foreigner.
Ittihad are based in Alexandria and were founded in 1914. They have the third largest number of fans in Egypt, after Al Ahly and Zamalek.
